Hi all,

I originally post this into velocity forum due to unable to link my velocity to KrisFlyer to be able to transfer points. A couple days back, received an email from them said they fixed it. Not sure how they did it. Since then I’ve transferred points from velocity to my KrisFlyer account. But nightmare comes after this.

To be short
1. I searched and confirmed there are 3 PE seats available just before I start the actual booking.

2. Logged into my husband’s account and he had just enough points to book for two. So booked 2 seats for him and our son.

3. Within minutes went to book the same flight using my account, literally could be less than 1 min as I already had the app logged in ready to go. Guess what, that whole flight just vanished. Not even waitlist option. It is just VANISHED!!

4, chatted and emailed back and forth like with 10 diff people and luckily I saved a couple screenshots of the search result cause I want to record the points and fees. Provided those but only to be told I am being put onto waitlist of this flight! How on earth am I going to wait till last minute and to possibly and most likely that I won’t get this waitlist cleared.

So disappointed with SQ now they are no longer providing adequate customer service as they known to be.

Now seeking you guys advice on this as what are the ways to escalate this further? So far I’ve chatted to Singapore number ( not sure if they actually is calling from Singapore) and been emailing with this US_Reservation team which is just useless! Every time it is a new person responding and telling me the same result. Also logged complaint via its feedback form. ANY OTHER WAYS TO ESCALATE THIS?

Not something you want to hear, but could just be a case of bad luck and someone else might have booked that flight. Just like something you want to buy on Amazon where there are millions of people shopping and only one item in stock.

Very unlikely. I seen these seats for a few days there no one was booking them. The chance of within the minute after I booked 2 seats and rest are all gone is very low. I think if I book all three in one go it would off worked. It feels like somehow their system put a stop once there is any redemption on that flight .

Give the waitlist a couple of weeks, they do sometimes clear.

For next time, it would've been a little more optimal to family transfer the VA points firstly to your husband's VA account, then onwards to his KF account, and book all three seats in one go.

Yeah I know. Now I regret not doing that. He had some points transferred from CC to it and just enough for two . And I was thinking to just transfer to myself is a lot easier cause with Velocity you have to call to transfer any points now. The online transfer option is not available.

Could you book an economy seat on same flight? At least you’re all together and if the waitlist clears, you’ll be able to move to same cabin.

Alternatively, are there multiple flights a day on the route you booked? Sometimes you can all go to airport together and there are only a few hours between flights.
