Reward flight booking

Economy class, all the flights are on QF flight numbers (2 are operated by AA however still have QF numbers)

QF7, QF4701, QF3024, QF12

I can't understand how you can come up with 152000 points for these awards. SYD-ATL should be 56000pts and MIA-SYD should be 64000pts. Are you trying to book as 2 one-way awards?

Looks to me like the return leg is being priced as Premium Economy at 96,000. That gives the 152,000 total.

Sorry my mistake I just double checked and the classic flight back is premium economy for half the trip which is why it was 152,000 not 120,000. The nearest full economy flight is the 23rd of oct which would be too far away

That explains why I was getting thrown off so the classic is cheaper, so I should be able to book a economy ASA flight over the phone for around 120,000 points + co payment?

Except that if there aren't any economy seats available as classic awards for your return date, then you won't be able to book the ASA into economy either, so you either change your date or fly Y+ for more points.

Just to show how helpful we can be on AFF here is an itinerary for you which does involve a few different stops:
16/10 MIA-IAH AA1314
IAH-LAX AA3530
LAX-NAN FJ811
17/10 NAN-BNE FJ921
BNE-SYD QF551

That will cost you 64000pts and the princely sum of $US61.63. If it seems like a grueling trip then all I can say is that I have done it and survived. If you want this booking I would grab it ASAP.(If you're willing to travel from NAN via AKL and travel on EK then the taxes reduce to $US38.92 and don't forget how much free airline food you will get!)
P.S I'd be happy to give you a great recommendation for Sunday brunch in Coconut Grove if needed.

Thanks Grussellt, I'm happy to do multiple stops if it's going to save $$$ I'm trying to put your suggestion on the booking online and it's saying I can only have 2 selected flights per day though? It's also saying those flights are for tomorrow (I will be leaving 24-25th sep and coming back around the 15th oct)

The 152,000 points quoted originally I was okay with however when I hit the $800 tax that was added to that it was a bit of a sting. Basically I'm giving my dad a grand for 150,000 points so I thought it was a sweet deal till the taxes lol, I'll still be better off this way rather then buying it flat all in cash. For the points plus cash method it would basically cost me $1500 (150,000 points + the bonus points for booking and $500 cash) so anything better then this would be a steal. The flight would cost me $2004 to book without points

If there are no economy return seats in classic rewards this would throw out the phone method?

Really appreciate everyones help!

In the muti-city option put in MIA-NAN for 16/10 and NAN-SYD for 17/10 and that should offer you the options I found. It's not available on a 15/10 departure but I think it's there leaving MIA on 14/10 if that's suitable. Best of luck!

You could also do similar similar outbound by choosing SYD-NAN (23/9) and NAN-ATL (24/9) for charges of around $200. However you will also need to overnight in NAN and the points required is 73000.
