Revolut v Wise

Tried to get some sense out of the Revolut chat-bot today about when UK & US account details (for Australian Revolut account holders) will be available. Nothing sensible forthcoming

Does anyone have a UK based Revolut account? If so, does it have Australian & US local account details available to you when you set up a foreign currency account? I’m assuming that it does have EUR local details

I had a UK one, it did not have US local details; however, P2 had one, and it did have US local account details. I questioned this as she'd never even held USD, let alone made use of local account details, got the usual stonewall nonsense response.

Both were opened around the same time, whenever Rev was a new thing and before it came to Australia, so probably around 10 years ago. But even now it seems there's no logic behind it.

No idea if either had AUD details though sorry, never thought or needed to check, but I did used to send USD frequently and the ability to send via ACH would have made me genuinely consider paying for one of the higher tiers.

That being the case, does anyone use Revolut in its current incarnation to pay their US Amex without resorting to a US based Bank Account. If so, how?

However, wrt this, I used to hold an Amex Platinum ICC card denominated in USD - these are a ballache to pay if you don't have a USD account - they're administered from the UK, but available to (or were, they're not any more) residents of many countries as long as it's not EU, US or Singapore for some reason. Paying them requires a deposit to a bank account in NY, StanChart if I remember correctly.

I used to use Revolut for that, but it didn't always work (Wise was much more reliable). In the end I used Citibank most of the time (use Rev to convert AUD to USD, send it to Citi AU, then onwards to StanChart US).

For "real" US Amex I pay via ACH pull from HSBC or Wise - I can't actually work out from the statements how to pay via transfer, it seems to be either via the Amex website/phone and link to bank account, or send them a cheque - but presumably if you call them they'd give you instructions on how to do it (all you'd need is their ACH routing number, account number and then use your card number as a reference).
