Really only ever used Sniip to facilitate Amex pts where they wouldn’t ordinarily be available. Given the multiple and significant devaluations with Amex pts I’m no longer wedded to it

That being the case I haven’t really come across too many restrictions (for me ) with the use of Visa and MC

It’s entirely possible that you’re correct based on the experience of others up thread. Don’t forget the debit is 1:1 and the credit is 1.3:1.

That may change the maths for Revolut

I posted about it earlier in the forum but sadly Revolut have a blanket points earning block on Sniip and Pay.com.au.

They also block transactions from energy companies and insurance from earning points as I’ve seen my Qantas health and AGL bills don’t earn anything as well.

Really? When I tried to apply for it, it gave me a message that it hasn't released yet and offered me to subscribe for email updates. Strange...

I made a Sniip payment this morning and earned the points on Revolut so currently it is working. Hopefully it doesn’t change. I was more curious about getting the credit card for the slightly higher points earn but don’t want to lose the debit card and lose the lower card fees.

Curious to know what the transfer rates are to airline partners are. It seems there’s not a lot of detail until you sign up.

Unfortunately most of the useful ones for Aussies are 2:1. I personally travel to China once a year and China Southern offer 1:1, so I'm going to book a business class flight to China next year sometime for 60,000 points. ~$3000 for a ticket so very good redemption value.

If you want an affordable method, you could fly with Scoot as award seats are pretty cheap - roughly 25,000 rev points from Aus to Asia. Otherwise 60,000 rev points for an economy seat on Singapore Airlines.

If travelling to Europe, British Airways also offer 1:1

Yeah it’s a shame. But between Avios airlines you can transfer so you can transfer from BA -> Qatar

Looks like they have changed their tune towards Sniip.

Made a transaction 2-3 months ago and it was blocked. Just tried now and it earned full points. How good!

Might be the squeaky wheel thing

I always filled in the surveys when offered and nagged them endlessly for the Ultra Plan to come to Australia and for a credit card to compete with Amex Plat given the ongoing de-valuations there.

I signed up for Ultra as soon as it was offered and was just wandering around the App when I came across the credit card option. Actually applied on the aeroplane whilst enroute to Asia. Was able to use the card in Apple Wallet the day after I arrived. The wallet version of the card says it’s a Visa Infinite; the physical card says nothing so not sure if there’s any Visa associated perks

The card is a freebie so there is little risk to getting one. Just keep pushing the credit card button and hopefully the tech will register your nagging in head-office
