Hi! First post here.
I bought a MEL-SYD-HKG return revenue economy ticket during DSC. There aren’t any business classic rewards flight available on any leg when I booked. Today I found out that there is SYD-HKG business classic rewards seat available which I am very happy to redeem.
Will I be able to change my booking from a revenue economy to a business class CR? Or I have to wait for a classic upgrade instead.

Thanks.

The QF upgrade path is for you to request an Upgrade.

If you want a guarantee you will need to book the CR and then cancel your Y tix.

If you want a guarantee you will need to book the CR and then cancel your Y tix.

If you cancel and rebook, it will be a new PNR and you will lose the DSC. If you try the upgrade, you will retain the PNR and DSC (on thew original Y fare.)

If you cancel and rebook the classic reward flight, you won’t get any SC at all unless you are also a member of Points Club or Points Club Plus. Also, check the cancellation conditions on your paid Y ticket - there will probably be fees to pay to cancel, and some types of fare are not refundable at all. So just check it out thoroughly before you make a decision.
