Hello i hope someone can answer this question for me as i cant find an definite answer. My cousin is a Colombian citizen traveling to Australia for a 2 month vacation on a tourist visa. He paid for a one way ticket from Bogota to LAX and has paid a return LAX to Syd ticket. I'm concerned that he hasn't bought a return ticket from LA to Bogota as he is waiting for some lifes miles to purchase the ticket in a couple weeks when he is in Sydney.

He is only staying in LA overnight and flying to Sydney the following night. Would there be an issue that he hasn't bought a return ticket? I don't want him denied entry to the US he just wants to purchase that ticket later.

I think that should be ok. Most immigration policies require an onward or return ticket.

On the way to Australia he will have an onward ticket out of the USA. On arrival in Australia he will have a return ticket. By the time he goes to baord his flight back home to Bogota he will have an onward ticket out of the USA back home.

Yes. The USA will just want to make sure that he keeps moving on.

And welcome to AFF.
