Retaining status before end of year

I am Accor Plus (via Amex) and have an expiry date in March 2024. I logged in to the app today which indicated I was 17 nights away from platinum and I have until March 2024 to earn those nights.

I thought status credits expired 31 December every year, which makes the info on the app inaccurate? If I have missed something obvious then I apologise and thank you in advance for any clarification.

I don’t have an enough status points (2000 short of diamond) this calendar year but have 72 nights on my counter. My understanding is number of nights however don’t matter anymore it’s just the status points if i want to maintain diamond, is that right?

Correct. The only path to Diamond is status points.
