Hi

I'm currently gold, but will drop back to silver on my review date.

However, 12 days after my review date I will be travelling to US in PE and will earn the SC's I require to maintain gold again.

Does Velocity allow a small grace period when determining whether to drop me to silver or not, Or do they cross match with my upcoming bookings to see that I will requalify for gold 12 days after my review date ends ?

If they don't and I drop back to silver I guess I will have to earn 500 SC to upgrade to Gold status rather than the 400 I would need if I requalified for gold by my review date.....Is that correct ?

Any information offered would be greatly appreciated. I looked on the Velocity website, but can't find anything about a 'grace' period when requalifying.
thanks

Your best bet would be to ring Virgin and ask very nicely - I've never seen any mention of a grace period on this forum.

Depending on how much you value Gold, and how many SC you need, a quick day trip on a sale or even flexi, or J at new prices fare to grab the SC you need would be best option, if you are a bit short with one trip, take a pooled family member and get their SC as well

There's definitely a built-in grace period. I've made both of my status jumps (Silver-Gold and Gold-Platinum) by *just* falling short of the qualification amounts after a big trip.

The other question is -- are you going to exceed 400SC after your outbound leg, or after your return? If it's your outbound, then it'd be likely that you get your 100SC on the return leg, no?

The "grace" period is 1 month (written on the back of your Velocity card I think). What I don't know is whether you will need 400 or 500 SCs to boost back up to gold. I suspect 500, but a nice word to the gold desk may help.

Thanks for the info, I just checked the back of my card, it says "Card valid for one month after review date".

As I will exceed the 400SC after my return flight, so I'll give the gold desk after I'm back and seewhat they can for me.

Wait a day or two after your SCs post from your return flight. I got auto-upgraded a few days after mine posted (despite not quite reaching the qualifying level).

The one month grace period is also written in the terms and conditions, I remember reading it.
