Hi,

Just last week under the Qantas DSC promotion, i booked some MEL to PER return flights for May/June. There were plenty of A330 options daily and I specifically booked this aircraft type. Now that they have my money, my flights have been changed to 737's. In fact it's not just my specific flights - all flights from MEL to PER on this day, and surrounding days are now all 737's. Also checked Sydney to Perth - those A330 flights have also been removed. I understand that aircraft types are not guaranteed, and that last minute swaps can occur, but this seems to be a deliberate decision to remove all A330s' from Perth domestic runs. I think it's a bit dishonest launching a major promotion with those a/c types listed, then immediately after the promotion ends, to remove all the A330 flights. For reference, my flights were late May through mid June. Has anything been announced about this?

Actually, in the context of Transcon flights the US major airlines have 3 or 4 class birds with lie flat F seats, recliner J seats, extra legroom whY and regular whY (usually on narrow body A321s etc).

But if you hub through DFW, ORD etc you’ll usually get a 2 class plane with recliner seats for the 2-3 hr flight rather than ~5hr non-stop.
Only for the premium routes really like JFK lax . Random other transcon flights like lax-clt etc just have standard recliners most of the time

Just a left field question…. Do they still give amenity kits on the 737 flights? I’ve got an 8pm eastern departure, connecting international. Was counting on an amenity kit on the a330, but now I’m on the 737, might need to pack the toothbrush.
Amenity kit on a 737? 🤣. Eh no. You don't get a pre departure drink, don't get a pillow, don't get a blanket and you may be lucky and get meal of choice but I would not bet on it!! Lounge can offer you a toothbrush though...😁..

Geez mate, only asked about a tooth brush.

As someone who doesn’t fly Qantas, thought it was a reasonable question given the extra $1000 it costs over the opposition.

Indeed I'm not saying your question is not worthy...I'm just helping you manage expectations and where you can get a toothbrush. 😁..surprised though that the competition is more expensive tbh.
