Relocation Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) to Techo International Airport (KTI)

Apparently the existing PNH airport will cease ops on 08 Sep and from 09 Sep, ops move to the new Techo airport (KTI).

Surprised they’re switching codes. Didn’t HKG and BKK just take there code with them (and others?). From what I can tell, KTI (Kratie) is already in use…

Anyway, we’re booked to fly CX PNH to HKG (and then onto SYD) as a QF CR and received notification from QF of the change (they showed it as a cancelled flight and then a new flight - same CX flight code and times). Then received an email directly from CX with info at the link above and advising the new flight details - so that was good. BUT no CX flight appears when I load the PNR into CX (only the QF HKG-SYD…).

Called QF yesterday to check reticketing status. Person said the QF system didn’t recognise “KTI”….even though MMB is showing it and I had received an updated QF “Itinerary” email (but not an e-Ticket). So this could be fun getting it reticketed properly…

Obviously can’t search on QF for KTI<->HKG CRs yet. But just checked using my AsiaMiles account and even CX haven’t updated their system for redemptions!

Cash fares on CX are bookable.

Called QF yesterday to check reticketing status. Person said the QF system didn’t recognise “KTI”….even though MMB is showing it and I had received an updated QF “Itinerary” email (but not an e-Ticket). So this could be fun getting it reticketed properly…

Actually, a new eTicket has arrived! But the flight is still missing on CX app/website, which might actually be an issue with CX catching up with handling award flights in their system.

A couple of other airlines (eg MH and CI) are still showing flights to PNH post the changeover.
