Saw the choir this morning on Channel 7's morning show singing it again.

Missed the show tonight outlining how they put together the new advertisement

Try watching on Saturday night at 6:30pm , Channel 7 for the story on the making of the ad. I'm pretty sure its on before the rugby.

They played it upon landing in BNE on QF16 on Thursday (which was a wonderful flight in 1K).

I hadn't heard it for ages, and it was nice to hear after being overseas for a few weeks.

I went and re-looked at the old adverts on you tube, i forgot one of the originals with Cate Cebrano was 3 minutes long !

I did love that early version with Kate Cebrano, Jack Jones, James Blundell etc. I remember it playing as we touched down in MEL after my first overseas trip - got a bit teary.

(On the same lines, there's something nice about walking onboard a QF plane after nine weeks away to be greeted by a cheery Australian accent.)

No, they didn't. And I don't remember seeing any Virgin Blue or Tiger (or even Jetstar) ads/programs during the 1 hour advert.

Probably better to air it before the rugby than before the next episode of Airline or Air Crash Investigation.

CH7 news in MEL ran a quick update re: a Qantas flight to London being delayed 24hrs (9 or 29 I'm tipping) featuring the usual sensationalist BS about families vowing never to fly QF again.....

At the moment many corporations are preferring to rehash old campaigns instead of the expense of new creative work.

I've noticed this on the adverts I am seeing being aired by different industries to contain costs but still trying to grow sales.

Well having seen it now, it's a bit 1990s (ie too much the same).

I think it's time to branch out a little as it's getting repetitive and boring.

I too only saw the ad last night and I must say I think they have done a great job.

The song and the locations are fantastic and it really stirs pride in being Australian.

I for one am glad they are back.
