Hi all

my family is from Guam so I would like to go back and visit them. I have AAdvantage miles and am looking for thoughts and options on how to get there using miles.

My my last trip was amazing on star alliance using TG and UA in first through Asia. Ahh the good ole days of Dividend miles...

Any suggestions or "creative" ideas greatly appreciated. Departure is Sydney and I like to fly First!

Thanks everyone

I recently did a Guam trip in J with AA, it was booked for 30k RETURN via USDM before the merger then cancelled and rebooked for dates that suited 8 months later

PER-HKG(overnight)-NRT(overnight)-GUM(3 nights)-NRT(11nights)-HKG-PER

I'm sure you can still do it, however its now 30k each ONE WAY and Asia 2 is 35k each so most people wouldn't bother anymore, the whole point used to be 30k return vs 90k return.

If you really do have family there then theres routes you can take. JAL fly to Guam daily, so SYD-NRT-GUM would work for you

It will be possible with two awards. Travel from South Pacific to Asia 2 (GUM) is not available via Asia 1 (Japan). So you'd need an AU-Japan return, and then another award to GUM.
