Redemption options - QR or AY

Hello!

Looking for some advice from all of you regular flyers!

I'm looking at a QF points reward booking from Europe to Australia. I'm a WP with QF and VA and will be flying business.

Options are:

QR via Doha on A380/777

Or --

AY on A350 to Singapore
SQ from Singapore to Australia on A330 (booked with KrisFlyer points)

Anyone had experience with these airlines and which would you recommend?

I've flown with QR once but not AY so my comments will be more general.
1) the QR 777 has a significantly inferior business class seat (it's flat, but in a 2-2-2 layout), unless your flight is a fair while away in which case you may have a good chance at getting their new fantastic looking business suite due to be phased out later this year.
2) from what I've read, AY are perfectly adequate although nothing special. The A350 is a pretty nice aircraft, though.
3) don't expect access to the First Class lounges in Doha due to your OWE status. You'll have to slum it in the J lounge.
