We just had a redemption booking for January 2027 changed from sq 241 to sq231. This is unacceptable to us and when I rang them they couldn’t tell me why this happened. Sq241 has not been cancelled and tickets are still available for sale. Anyone had this happened to them before and if so is there anything that can be done ? Thanks

Is that in premium economy by any chance? There's been an aircraft change from A350 LH to MH, so there's no PE on that route in January any more.

If it is PE and you don't want a red eye (I'm assuming this is the issue with 231), you can always ask to be moved to SQ211 (10:30 departure on the 777). There's generally more latitude to accommodate you for an involuntary change (even if there's not award inventory) so I would make sure to use that phrasing.

Yes it is in PE - that makes sense if there was an aircraft change but wondering why the agent couldn't tell me this (I would have been more understanding)

They can't necessarily see the reason, and while some would know enough about operations to work it out, not all of them will (might depend on which call centre you get through to).

I'd call back and try to get moved to SQ211 if you're after a daytime flight.
