Redeming a QF Award

I am looking at booking a SYD-PER flight award in January.

When I try to book, there are none available to me as a NB, only business awards. What's to stop me in theory:
1. Transferring points to my Plat "cousin"
2. Getting them to book a Y flight in my name, saving me 18k points ?

Very little - assuming there is availability shown for your cousin.

I believe "First cousin" is an acceptable person to book you tickets using their points (and also for you to transfer points to as part of the family transfers).

Mal is correct. First cousin is considered an eligible family member.

I should also say that if you have a "cousin" then you'd probably also get away with it.

We're all from the same family aren't we in some way, shape or form?
