hi all,

pretty new here and try to collect points where I can. apologies if this is posted somewhere else and i have missed it.

i just wanted to check if there was a portal to book/redeem an SQ flight with your velocity points without transferring them to a Krisflyer account first? I thought i had read something before but cant seem to find the website or the source.

thanks in advance :)

You do gain better access to the premium seats if you use Kris Miles. If you transfer Virgin points you get 2 for every 3.
You haven't said what class of travel you are aiming to book.

You should be able to just search on the velocity site and SQ will come up as options, if available. As Cove mentioned it may be well worth your while to review availability on SQ itself and consider transferring your points over.

Would like to book either business or first. I'll have a look at availability on both virgin and Singapore and compare availability

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

We book Suites which is the A380 First Class and I think you need Kris Miles for that as SQ favour their own loyalty program.
You can probably get business using Virgin points but I haven't tried as we have plenty of Kris Miles.
Suites gets you the Krug and the Dom,the icy vodka with the caviar and a French red to get to sleep.

SQ are helpful by the fact, when you find the flights you are looking you can ring and book the redemption fight without the points in your account. They will hold/ reserve you booking for about 3-4 days while you transfer points to Kris from what linked program you have. You need to ring back confirm prior to the cutoff period to pay taxes and get the ticket issued.

Singapore Airlines has just become a partner of Alaska Airlines, be interested to see this month what their redemption rates and what classes are available..
