Red Energy Referral - Qantas points

Hi everyone šŸ‘‹

I’m planning to switch to Red Energy soon and wanted to check if anyone here has a referral code/link I can use.

Happy to use someone’s referral so we both get the benefit (if applicable).
Please comment or DM me.

Thanks in advance! 😊

Can I ask anyone who has joined red energy recently.. if I already have a Qantas frequent flyer membership I pay for through my credit card but red is offering it for free can I simply just swap it over?

When you sign up for Red Energy is a place where you can add your QF ffn. Joining QF FFP again would not be advisable,

Hi Char
Great question!
@Mwenenzi is correct. An extra distinction though is that the idea of joining QFF again is unnecessary. Red Energy simply add that in in case someone is not a member. For example, I have been a QFF for many decades and just added my QFF number when asked for it, when I joined Red Energy.

Further, if you are using one of the referral codes in this thread, you will be provided with a vast array of options. The QANTAS one is the only one that will give you the extra 10,000 points (more for gas too)!

While I am here, I would like to thank HO SAN TIMOTHY who just used my referral link. You can also ring RED Energy on 131 806 if you prefer and simply quote a referral code. For example, my referral code is: 7107625. So lot's of options! In 5 years I have never been disappointed with RED as a service provider.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for the insight and referral I’ll be signing up tomorrow.

I am still with Red as they are the cheapest for my area. I am a longtime contributor to AFF.

If you are looking for a referral then please use my referral code 6881656.

*First - thank you to Ryan who has recently signed up to Red using my referral which is 7107625. It was an unexpected bonus.

I thought I would use the occasion to update my support of Red Energy as an electricity retailer following the free 3 hours' offer in the middle of the day. I think it exists in most states but there are minor variations depending on where you live.

I had a very useful conversation with the RED representative who took into account my daily usage which is very low and there was no point in changing my plan to take advantage . In fact ,this article on National Seniors Australia said it best:

To save money under these plans households need to increase the amount of power they use during those three-hour windows. Otherwise, the free period will be offset by the higher prices at other times; or worse, the bill could even increase if they use more power during the evening.

On top of that, if for example you are charging a car and you go over the limit of power usage, your cost can increase. And you have to be home for all of this 🤣.

When I consider the significant number of points I get with the Qantas red Saver Plan, even when it is in credit, it is hard to go past this fabulous Qantas Red Energy plan

Back on Red Energy as of a couple of months ago to secure a Green Tier leaf! Their rates are very competitive for metro Sydney, and the Qantas sign-up bonus points are icing on the cake.

My referral code is 7839438

Wow - they lock you out for 24 months to stop you getting a second 1500 points sign up bonus. They clearly don’t have much confidence that new sign ups are going to stick around for long.

The T&cs say ā€œA returning customer must not have held an active electricity and/or gas account with Red Energy at any time during the 24 month period prior to being referredā€.

Ah! A returning customer. I thought you were referring to how often a referral could be made. Nevertheless, I'm not so sure that a rule like that is particulalry unusual? Credit Cards do similar...

Credit cards do it for 100,000 point bonuses. - and often less than 24 months. But for 1,500 points that are worth about $15 it seems somewhat draconian.

The link that PaulyB posted offers a sign up bonus of 1,500 points or a $25 eGift card.

That's a bonus just for using the referral link. There's also a 10k + 5k sign up bonus available, available to all regardless of whether you click the link. That T&C clause discussed above is referring to those 10k + 5k.
