Hi all. Planning a trip to China. Does anyone have recommendations on the better Hilton property in each of the following cities? "Better" being defined as nicer amenities, superior service, quality of food available in executive lounge. I am a HHonours Diamond member.

Shanghai: Hilton Shanghai Hotel or Hilton Shanghai Hongqiao
Beijing: Hilton Beijing Hotel or Hilton Beijing Wangfujing

Thanks!

I really like Hilton Shanghai. Good location not far from the subway, nice rooms with all the amnesties you can imagine (like any good hotel in China), the executive lounge offers good canapés and the wine is better then what is served in the Australian Hiltons. I also had hot breakfast there which was very good and the service was similar to a restaurant. The staff in the front desk and the concierge are all very helpful and they all speak English.
I never stayed in the Hongqiao property because the location was not good for me. It depends which airport you land and depart from.
I heard the Waldorf Astoria is very nice and I would like to try it next time when I'm in Shanghai.

The Hilton Beijing Wangfujing was a perfect base for our short two-night stay in Beijing myself and Mrs Clarmich). From the moment we were met at the airport by hotel car until we were returned two days later, the hotel provided high quality, understated yet attentive service. The umbrella loan as we left for dinner amidst a thunderstorm was a highlight as was the assistance and advice of Morrison and the Executive Lounge staff who arranged dinner at famed roast duck restaurant, Da Dong. The room service food was the best we have tasted anywhere in the world, reasonably priced and it was particularly nice to be able to have some vegetables! As a Diamond HHonors member, the upgrade to a Innovation Suite was appreciated too. Overall a great stay and very good value for money in Beijing.
