Anyone have any recommendations for an online itinerary tracker. My family of 4 have quite a complicated trip coming up. 4 different airlines due to making the most of award travel. Jet star to Tokyo. JAL to Sapporo. Transfers to Niseko and back. Hong Kong Airlines to Hong Kong and Singapore airlines home via Singapore. I am my own travel agent so any help keeping all my booking details would be great. Have read of a few but can't remember their names.

I use Tripit the free one and I quite like that - you just email your plans and most of the time it imports them successfully

Off the top of my head there's TripIt, Kayak, TripMate and I'm sure more.

I second the tripit suggestion. I have my emails listed in my tripit account, so any itinerary I receive gets forwarded to [email protected]. Mosy of the time these get automatically recognised and listed by trip.

But for me the real beauty is that tripit then generates a calendar which can be viewed by outlook/gmail etc. The calendar shows all flight times and booking details, hotel details. The calendar can be displayed on variis5 devices also, so my phone also shows these, and of course it all adjusts automatically for whichever timezone you're in. In fact i like to use with Outlook to overlay other appointments etc.

And its all free!

I'm also a TripIt user and pay for the Pro version, so I get the alerts about flights delays, changes etc - often before the airline contacts me. My wife is also an admin user so she can see when I drop my bookings in, see where I am etc - it's not that she doesn't trust me, she just worries when I'm on the road for work

Tripit does seem quite good I’ve just discovered. There used to be a great free one that sent notifications. One time I was in the F lounge and was notified of a seat change well before it was announced over the PA. I went to the desk to sort out new seats and they had only just found out. Sadly that app has gone now.

Even on the free version of TripIt I've gotten notifications as a bit of a 'taste' to get you to upgrade.

I’m trialing the pro TripIt for one month. As it covers the upcoming trip. Thanks for all the tips.

I’ve now loaded up tripit for our Alaska venture and added accomodation etc and agree it does look rather nice.

The only thing I don't like about TripIt is it doesn't allow you to remove the check out boxes,
And it isn't smart about ordering when you have a late or early flight and it uses default checkin out times. But easily fixed with some editing.

Not sure if other apps also do it but Tripit is very easy to share with people either as a viewer or an editor so if you just want someone to know where you are they can view or your PA can add any additional flights or accommodation

TripIt pro works well for me. Only kicks in a few days before travel, but works well thereafter. Both pro and free versions have alerted me to delays before any other app including the airline in question. Has given me a head start in securing seats on other flights in the US, and in Oz saved me from leaving the lounge unnecessarily!

Another for TripIt. I have TripIt Pro through work and it's a lifesaver in terms of aggregating itineraries and giving alerts. As Kermatu has said I often know delays before airline staff do so can prepare accordingly and even small touches like knowing which baggage carousel to go to (in the unfortunate situation I have to check a bag) are really handy.

My additional advice is pick one app and stick with it. In the past I have had multiple apps and it does not add anything to be fair.

Just a query with Trip It. It doesn’t seem like CX? Or an award flight on CX booked through Qantas. Maybe user error?

What sort of error are you getting - did it not load correctly?
