Hi All,

Checked my email this morning and found I had a TAM arlines itinerary in my inbox. Still half asleep all I saw was a TAM itinerary with my FF number, and a payment which had the correct last digiits of my credit card.

Thinking I had been compromised I immediately went to cancel my credit card, but after waking up properly, I realised the itinerary was actually one for a flight I had already booked in August to Brisbane (correct PNR). The email appears to be legit (as in a proper TAM itinerary send from Amadeus), but it is very odd that it decided just to spurt out an QF domestic flight itinerary (I do not have any or have never flown TAM or LAN).

Anybody had this happen? should I be concerned (I will change my FF password, but don't really want the hassle of changing credit card).

regards,

Paul C

If you booked this ticket through QF then yes I would be concerned.
Very odd and I would contact QF.
Have a look at your booking on check mytrip.com

Has the flight time or something else changed?
Was the BNE booking made with QF or TAM/LAN? (.br?)

Hi Mwenenzi,

nothing appears to have changed, it looks exactly as booked, was booked on QF site as points plus pay about 4 months ago. I am taking precautions by changing passwords and credit card, and will call qf ff when offices are open tomorrow.

It is odd as its an existing booking, but still concerns me just incase it was sent as part of an "attempt" to change or extract details by a hacker.

Out of interest would you mind posting a picture of it on here? (of course blank out your details, booking ref, etc)

Hi cmon0005, screenshot (with blanking attached), I put what I could fit on one screen shot, there is a terms and conditions part which looks "legit" on the pages not attached.

Looks like it could be a system issue, as the email seems legit based on all the details in it and also TAM use the same reservations system as QF (Amadeus), I would be calling QF reservations to find out whats going on or probably better to send a PM to Red Roo on here to investigate. Let us know how you go, very interesting indeed!

Not directly on topic, but related.... why on earth does QF send their emails from so many/different/random email addresses/senders? For instance, why is epiQure sending me my monthly statement or the news about the simplifications to the QFFP? There are others, but if they don't want customers fooled by phishing emails they should send epiQure emails from epiQure, QFFP emails from QFFP, and so on.

Interesting to see that your ticket still has a 081 ticket number, which means it remains a Qantas-issued ticket...
