... or to the corner of Sir Reg Ansett Dr and Joyce Dr, at Mascot?
Just noticed that with the above head level drive way being erected from far up Joyce Dr, that walkway from T2/T3 at Sydney Airport, might not be usable anymore.
Used to save lot of Opal fares, walking from T3 to Ibis budget and Mascot train station.
Any info ta.
Esp for those who use Sydney Airport regularly by bus/car?

We (me, wife, 8 year old daughter) walk from T2 to Ibis Budget, HI Express or Ibis each time we are in SYD.

For Ibis Budget from T2 just keep walking on the right hand side past taxi rank. Think this has not been affected.

For Ibis and HI Express from T2 walk down to airport train station and come out at T3 then keep walking on the left and cross to O'Riordan St. Around 15 minutes with luggage.

Thanks JohnK.
My last walk along there was pre covid, so its been a long time now.
Will see if a few months, maybe a year.

If anything there is less traffic at ground level due to the new airport gateway roadway.

Note that P1 carpark has been razed to the ground to be rebuilt so as JohnK says quickest to use the train underpass to go between T2 and T3.

Will it still.be easy enough to walk from domestic to Mantra? Are developments making it hard?

Scary looking at/from Google Maps with the above head road from Joyce Dr (heh heh heh, interesting name), to T2/T3, ...
With all the works, I guess they had to cut access for a while, but maybe reinstated by now.
But have they reinstated the foodpath?
Granted, its been a long time since I did the walk to and from the Ibis Budget and Mascot station.
My trip wont be till end of the year.

No change, so that walk under the bright advertising gantry can still be done?

If arriving at T3 (QF), the 350 bus departs right out front and is very regular now every ~10 mins and gets you up to the hotel area pretty quickly (before meandering back and out to the coast).

Ok with big bags for the short distance but not advisable going further. Small bags / carry on ok all the way Bondi Junction but it can get crowded after the airport in the arvo rush (3pm to 5/6pm).

Arriving on VA, you can now walk across the car park easily again (or go under ground via the rail access).

@AustraliaPoochie not scary at all. Very easy walk and we've gone to hotels either side many times.

We now prefer HI Express (or even Ibis) but I've decided to hire car each time as it's easier to get to/from parents rather than using Uber.

Yea, will be doing the HI Express, to earn IHG one points, in Dec, on an aside, pity the Ibis Budget Budget is not in ALL Accor points earn.
Thanks to all repliers, used to walk a lot around there, when I visited SYD, but havent done it since the overhead drive way started, maybe it was just before covid started.
