First stop the next day was the village of Geddington. The site of the best preserved Eleanor Cross. Back in 1290 the wife of Edward 1 died in the north. It took 12 days to bring her body back to London. At every nights stop he erected a cross. Only 3 rremaiin. This one in Geddington is said to be the best remaining.
