You can get USD50 (~AU$70) in cashback with Rakuten, the US-based website, with the following link (full disclosure, I also get USD50), if you make a total of total USD50 worth of purchases through Rakuten. Purchases must be made within 90 days of joining.

While this isn't too amazing due to the issues with getting the payout (I think paypal is the only real way for Aussies), Rakuten partners with Bilt Rewards, allowing you to earn Bilt Rewards points - which you can transfer to programs normally not easily accessible for Australians, including Alaska Atmos Rewards, World of Hyatt, Air France/KLM Flying Blue etc.
If you sign up for Bilt Rewards (which is easy enough, all you need is an email address), you can link your accounts to Rakuten and earn 1 Bilt Point per 1 US cent cashback earned.
There's some great deals on at the moment with Rakuten, including getting 97% cashback on new NordVPN Basic plans - effectively buying Bilt points at ~1.5 Aussie cents - not a bad deal.
Note cashback is not instant - Rakuten pays out every quarter, with the next payout date in May. Also, after May, Bilt will drop its earn rate to 1 Bilt Point per 2 US cents cashback.
But still, a good way to dip toes in the US points market from Australia
