RAA provide full refund

Purchased Travel insurance through the RAA only a couple of weeks before Covid arrived and never got to use the policy so was surprised to see this email from RAA on Tuesday. Insurance provider was Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd.

Hi there,

We’re contacting you about travel insurance that you purchased from us. Disruptions caused by COVID-19 may have impacted your travel plans which meant you may not have needed coverage for a part, or all, of your trip.

Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for a full or partial refund of your insurance premium/s for the policies below. We're committed to ensuring our products and services provide genuine and ongoing value to our members.


Had to fill out a quick questionnaire but as far as I could see there was no checks/audits to verify your responses.
I received a reply email almost immediately with a file number and tax receipt with the promise of 100% of funds to be paid into my bank in 3-6 weeks. Money showed up in account yesterday so all only 2 days for the whole process so I’m suitably impressed

Insure and Go did this as well, but in 2020. Maybe someone did an Audit.
