Seems to be the only change.

I wonder if there is still any old R class (economy) in the system for flights after Oct 20, 2008.

No information about earning for Premium Economy, yet...

Whilst we're on this topic.

I understand that R will be used for first class on the A380.

Does anyone know whether A fares - ie ACIR__ or AONE__ fares will allow a passenger to book into first class on the A380 and:

- will this be free?
- will their be a supplement (eg a la the old concorde days)?
- will they simply require "A" passengers to travel on 747 services?

I would suggest this would be the case, or they would have an option to pay a surchage to travel in first on the A380, much the same as SQ has done with theirs.

Having said that, I haven't heard anything, but i'll put some feelers out.

Looking at some dates in early June the following are consistent:

QF93 744 R0 F9 A9 J9 C9 D9 W9 T9 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9

QF93 380 R9 F5 A0 J9 C9 D9 W9 T9 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9

Don't expect to be able to book a QF A380 on an AONEx/ACIRnn anytime soon ...

Yes, and AONEx or ACIRxx would book into the first class cabin on the A380. But the problem is that so far it seems that QF has chosen not to make any A class available on any A380 flights. This may change in the future, but seems to be consistent policy for now. Of course there is no official word from QF that A class will or will not be made available on the A380 flights.

Just spoke to someone from QF, it seems they're yet to make a firm decision regarding a surcharge on the A380, but i've no doubt they probably will.

Hmmm, given the opportunity to justify another surcharge, I don't think we will be too surprised with the outcome

Although i have yet to see anything of them i am not sure they are really as good as the SQ F "rooms" just guessing from the config, I would hope they are only holding back A initially while people try them out.

What i wonder is there any OW regulations etc that would force them to allow A ?
I would presume not since JAL do not offer A/D/L on that JL47/JL48 flight ever. But maybe thats becuase of where it flies and given some special exception ?

I have not seen R class used for a while. Mainly notice Q, N, S, V, L, M, K classes for international flights.

There was a report on Flyertalk that someone booking ex-SIN Econ ended up in the F cabin as the fare was in R Class. Fairly quickly sorted when they queried Qantas about it though, but they did get a reward from Qantas for doing the right thing.
