Warriors,
I'm looking to redeem a Manila-SIN-MEL Economy-to-Business Saver upgrade Award.
The Upgrade charts say this would be Zone 3 to Zone 9 = 35000 points (before online discount). There are Business Saver seats available.

I have not yet transferred my points into KF points but when I attempt to upgrade these flights it says I have insufficient points (cool) but that the points required would be 50000 (I'm guessing this is the combined points required for 2 individual flights)

So............after I transfer my points will the website both apply the 15% discount AND combine the tickets to reduce the total points required for both legs to 29750 points.

I'm guessing "Yes", but can a Krisflyer aficionados confirm?

The miles required for a J Saver return upgrade are 70,000 before discount.
After the 15% on line discount, that's 59,500.
I'm guessing the 50,000 you quoted is the difference between your current KF miles balance, and either the 59,500 or 70,000.

You definitely need 59,500 KF miles (in your account) for the return upgrade.

That said, the KF website has been known to experience glitches.

Thanks deluxe flyer, in my case I'm just doing a one-way upgrade award. So at half your figures that all makes sense - I was just not sure if the system recognizes the 2 flights as 1 distance for award purposes.

When you apply for upgrade redemption, you will be presented with a page to select the flights you wish upgrade.

The page is similar to "Select Your Seat" page. You can tick the boxes on the flights you wish to upgrade. From my experience (when redeeming MEL-SIN-BKK upgrade), the system recognized the SQ218 and SQ972 as 1 sector and applied the correct points for J Saver Upgrade of 29750 points. (That is 35000 - 15% discount). Rather than 35,000 (MEL-SIN) + 15,000 (SIN-BKK) - 15%.

All the best.

Yep, that's exactly how it worked.

Gee it's nice to upgrade to J 3 weeks in advance and have a confirmed ticket. The equivalent Qantas lottery system is demeaning
