I'm contemplating a quick trip to Scotland for family reasons, out about 1 Dec and back a week later.

Can anyone make suggestions for the cheapest way there on Star Alliance , in J for at least the long hop from Asia to Europe? That is, whY is Ok from Australia to Europe and from Europe onto Scotland. Routing is a lesser consideration than fare.

The best J only fares and routing I can see so far on their web sites is on Turkish, obviously via Istanbul, and Lufthansa, via Frankfurt, both going directly on to Edinburgh. Does anyone know if they offer mixed cabin classes, say if booked through a TA (which will probably be the case). TA away tomorrow, so I'm hoping for advance answer :)
