I've got 46k odd points, last activity on the account was 2 years ago. rarely travel domestically so looking for a quick/low cost way to keep the account active (a la woolies/qantas type idea).

suggestions please?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Log into estore and buy something for a dollar from eBay. It can take a month for the points to credit though... Hope that is enough time!

Rent a car from Hertz, Europcar or Thrifty and credit the points.

Or transfer some credit card reward points from the likes of Westpac Altitude, CBA Awards, Citi Rewards, ANZ rewards.

not an ebay shopper, don't rent cars and would prefer to not lose the transfer of points.

is there not a easy one like the QFF/Woolies deal? if not, c'mon coles/aldi/costco/IGA - team up with Velocity and make it happen!

Have you had a look at the Velocity estore? eBay was simply an example. You could buy anything for any amount of money. Unless you don't shop online, I don't see why this option isn't quick and cheap.

if none of the above options suit...could always sign up a family member transfer points and transfer back

If you live in Australia, get the VGW, and pay a bill on a regular basis with the card, maybe a mobile phone bill, or something.
Thought with VA, you lost points after 18 months of inactivity, or is that with QF?
EDIT: Ahh, VA is 36 months.
Better do something, OP...
If you log into ebay via Velocity, you can buy something meaningless, and the points go to your VA account.
But you must log into ebay via Velocity, or you don't get VA points.
OR do a meaningless SC run, 40 mins turn around time seems to be norm, $200 to earn 1000 points, and maybe 20 SC.
If you go overseas, how about using NZ next time, and put your VA # onto the booking.
On the lower fares, you only earn 0.25 points per mile flown. But NZ flights are already so cheap, SYD to AKL can be had for Aud$199 one way some days when there are "specials".
