I have 2 AA (codeshared with QF) Flights coming up. 1. QF3013/AA2453 17/6/22 LAX-BOS DEP 2235
2. QF3030/AA117 JFK-LAX 06/0722 DEP1700

I'm also an AAdvantage member (albeit with no miles or status)

I have a couple of questions regarding my flights.

I emailed AA about a week ago asking if/how I could upgrade my economy class seat to one further forward in the cabin with extra legroom. I received an excellent response today, which included my confirmation/Record locator (impossible to find if you've booked through Qantas.)

All up, the seats I wish to purchase are $146USD

Firstly, do I earn miles by paying for seat selection? I doubt it but interesting to know.

I am aware that you can pay with miles. What is the equivalent cost in miles? First seat was $85 and the second $61.

Lastly, can I transfer Qantas points to AA so I can do this? I'm only interested in doing it if it's reasonable.

Thanks.

Can't answer the first 2 but definitely can't transfer QF points to any other programme

Lol. I know, and they have a promo atm. As I doubt the cost (in miles) is cheaper than paying with $ (assuming you need to buy the miles), I just went ahead and bought them.
