Hi all, slightly complicated question, I think I know the answer but just the verify with the brains trust.
Have a booking ADL-SYD-ICN-SYD-ADL - all on one PNR and split between QF and OZ (no, not the QF codeshare on OZ as it had sold out). No it is not possible to change the booking.
My QF number is on the booking, but as it is not a QF codeshare on the OZ SYD-ICN-SYD legs, these legs won't earn QF points.
I called OZ and they can't put my Krisflyer number on the OZ flights, because the QFF number is overriding it in the booking.
OZ suggested going to OZ check in at SYD and trying to get my Krisflyer number added to the SYD-ICN flight, after I have completed the first ADL-SYD domestic QF flight. They said it 'might' work.... but didn't sound confident. They said to also try that on the ICN-SYD leg as well...
If this does not work - do you think I will be successful with a retrospective claim for the OZ flights on Krisflyer (even though on my boarding pass it will clearly not have my Krisflyer number showing!)
Keen to hear the frequent traveler thoughts on this, surely its happened to someone who flies internationally before
Thank you
