Hi Folks,

I've searched and searched to no avail - even Wicki was useless...

I'm travelling QF to HKG then transiting to another carrier for HKG PEK.

I'm trying to determine if QF have an interline agreement with 'Hong Kong Airlines'. Is there a definitive website of interline agreements that anyone is aware of?

Alternatively if someone is aware they definately don't interline, is 2.15 hours enough time to allow given different terminals? Additionally does anyone know what T2 at HKIA is like? Their website barely acknowledges it!!!!

Thanks in advance!!!

QF has interline and codeshare agreements with Jetstar Asia, China Eastern Airlines and DragonAir in China.

So no.

I cant answer your other questions though.

Thanks Empdizz!

I hope 2 hours is enough to get bags and change terminals then...

Wonder if my Chinese Single visit visa is sufficient then? Hmmmm so many questions lol

Single visit for CN, if your referring to a HKG its not going to be used... no visa for AU people in HKG :)

A related interline question: I'd like to book a JQ domestic flight (PER-SYD) where I will get on QF SYD-JNB. The former isn't booked, the latter is and is part of a DONE4. On checking in at Perth would JQ be able to tag my bag through to JNB on QF?

No, JQ doesn't interline bags, you'll either need to collect and recheck them at the international terminal or fly QF PER-SYD.

This is perhaps not strictly an interline question as the two flights I'm enquiring about are both operated by Qantas. But, I'm loathe to start a new thread so . . .

Day 1, 11.15pm Perth to Sydney
Day 2, 6.10am arrive Sydney
Day 2, 3.10pm Sydney to Los Angeles

Perth to Sydney on QF on one ticket; Sydney to Los Angeles on Qantas on a separate ticket.

When I check in at Perth will Qantas tag my bag through to LA?

(Note my WP status for the reason why I want to have my bags checked through!)

Qantas say "definitely" because it's a sameday connection. However, just last week I did the following:

Day 1, 11pm Perth to Sydney
Day 2, 6.10am arrive Sydney
Day 2, 8.45am Sydney to Armidale
Day 2, 9.55am arrive Armidale
Day 2, 1.40pm Armidale to Sydney
Day 2, 2.55pm arrive Sydney
Day 2, 4pm Sydney to Melbourne
Day 2, 5.30pm arrive Melbourne

Previously a Qantas phone agent told me that the bags would be tagged through from Perth to Melbourne because there was "less than eight hours between any one flight". Checking in at Perth the agent said she'd never seen anything like it and would be able to tag it through (but would have to use two bag tags). However, the system wouldn't allow it, tagging it to Armidale only - despite giving me all boarding passes).

...

Day 1, 11.15pm perth to sydney
day 2, 6.10am arrive sydney
day 2, 3.10pm sydney to los angeles

perth to sydney on qf on one ticket; sydney to los angeles on qantas on a separate ticket.

When i check in at perth will qantas tag my bag through to la?
Should not be a problem make sure you have printed copies of both e-tickets at hand when checking in at PER.

You other issue relates to specific limitations; i.e. Can't through check reverse segments like SYD-ARM-SYD. (You may have been able to tag PER-xSYD-MEL in this case).

You PER-SYD-LAX routing is straight forward.
