Quick Q

I am thinking of visiting Queenstown on my way home from NZ. Seeing that it looks to have about 10 flights a day, what are customs/ immigration like at ZQN?

If the flight was at Sunday 3pm, what would be a safe bet in regards to time for checking in, and similarly what would be the tightest?

Eg
- its bad - minimum 2hrs, safe bet 3hrs.
- its very efficient & quiet - minimum 90 minutes, safe bet 2hrs.

Need to work out if the skiing that morning is worth while.

Also does any one have any tips on getting transport or where to stay in Queenstown? Looking for budget accom.

I cant help with the departure timing, but there's about a million serviced apartments in Queenstown so you should have too much trouble.

I usually go to wotif or similar to see whats there, but if you're planning further in advance, just go to the individual websites once you've seen the ones you like (I'm sure wotif love hearing that - not!)

Hi,

In my limited experience of ZQN it is very quick to pass through.

And as docjames said accom in Queenstown is very easy to find and can be very cheap if booked ahead.

I stayed at the Queenstown Lodge when I went through on a Contiki tour. Had no qualms with it, quite a comfortable space.
