I am currently booked to fly J class on BA from LHR to JFK. This is a reward booking using AA points.

I am trying to streamline my itinerary and am considering adding a flight from Glasgow to LHR on the same day.

1. I am planning to buy a BA domestic flight separately online. Will I have any issues linking the two itineraries together? (The flights I am looking at have sufficient connection time)
2. The GLA-LHR flights seem to be all economy. What does this mean for my luggage allowances? I assume that (unfortunately) I'll be limited to the economy ticket allowance.

I just want to gather all the info I need before making any bookings/calling the airline.

Thanks, pw.

I spoke with someone from BA who advised that when I check in at Glasgow, my bags can be tagged for my onward flight to JFK.

The issue is that the flights will still be considered separate flights. And while I was told I would be helped if I miss my LHR-JFK flight, I am not sure I would get the same level of assistance if this was done as one booking.

I frequently fly GLA-LHR and vv on separate tickets with a connecting LH on QF. Only once had any problems ( last month) and that was because I had no checked luggage.
Your bags will be checked through to JFK and you will land and depart from T5, shouldn't be a problem if you allow enough connecting time.
