Just wondering if anyone has experience with availability of QR flights when using AA points to book award flights. I'm looking at MEL-MAD in 2017, the one-stop route via DOH would be very convenient but would rather not waste time calling AA if they are rarely available. Not a BA member so unable to see searches on there, but the AA site seems to have reasonable availability when doing the two-stop route via LHR.

Thanks

Just slightly off topic but why does the AA availability show more then QF almost always!? (even for QF flights)

It's possible that some of that is "phantom" availability that doesn't actually exist. I don't see any circumstance where AA members (should) have access to more QF seats than QF members.

Are you saying the AA website is giving you QR options?

No, it doesn't, the two-stop options are with QF, AY etc. I'm really just interested to hear how anyone has fared with booking QR using AA points via their call centre.

Qantas also shows QR availability. Found some Eu to Australia flights a couple of days ago.
