Hello all,
I am a noob, so gentle please,
I work on the other side of the planet and return to the land of OZ each month, I am NB QFF and just about to tick over into PS,
Q1. i find it difficult to understand when i get status credits and when i dont on other carriers, as the websites and generally the Customer service for these other airlines struggle to be able to tell me the booking class the proposed ticket is !
i reguarlly use Skyscanner , Expedia and Ctrip, but generally they all lack the details unless i purchase the ticket.
Is their and Answer to this issue

i have seen a link to Expertflyer, is this more comprehensive, does anyone use it?

Q2. i have 295 SC and need 5 to PS, i have a Y+ booked from HKG to ADL, i am 2 flights away from getting to that point of origin and could use CX to get to HKG, as the QF status credits go into my account faster, if i get the extra 5 points to PS via CX, will i get the bonus credits due to PS on the Y+ leg?
Sorry even i am confused, but i hope someone gets my drift!!!

Thanking you in advance

Not sure about the first question but with the second question, once you've qualified for a level then any flights after that will earn bonus points as per the new status. Qantas will adjust as required once it all goes through.

Firstly, don't apologise for anything, we all started out as a noob at some point. :)

In terms of finding out the booking class, it's very important that you factor that into part of the purchasing process, not after the fact.

CX is a notorious one for not being eligible for points in the QFF program, so pay particular attention there.

As a rule CX flights take about a week to post to QFF so don't panic if they don't show up for a little while.

Also the sequence of flights determines the status bonuses. So don't stress on that. Usually QF will post the sequence correctly and your bonus points will too. If not a quick phone call will sort it out.

Welcome aboard and enjoy your travels

Wow that was faster than calling customer service, thanks Reload

i think i am a little confused also , when you achieve PS do you get 50% extra Status credits or Points

thx again

A bonus on status credits! I like your thinking! Sadly not, just points.

PS is but the start of a slippery slope into the Frequent Flyer abyss. Enjoy the ride :)
