QFF Gold to Platinum Difference Noticed

In my experience it is not an "unpublished" benefit of Platinum status.

I have been re-booked on later flights at no charge and I have also been made to pay the change fee. It is all up to the agent and more than likely it depends on the mood they are in at the time. I have also been told that it is not possible to waive the change fees as they are under much more scrutiny now.

Who to believe?

In my single experience of this, I saw it as a benefit of being able to ask for the change at the J lounge. The CSA did also mention that she was moving people anyway (being a friday) so maybe that helped avoid being called on the change fee.

Of course, there is also the situation that I was on an O fare, missed my flight by 5 minutes and there should be no change fees as the fare is not eligible to be changed on the day of travel. Overall, I was very lucky and I can only think using the J lounge helped.

Good point, JohnK maybe it was due to the whim of the CSA on the day. I I have a strong suspicion that we would have received a very different response as NB's although I'm not too keen to drop downwards and test that theory ;p

I always get the personal greeting/welcome aboard spiel in international F but it's variable everyplace else.

The surname is a lengthier European spelling of a similarly-spelt and pronounced English name, so all credit to the boarding gate staff and FA's at the door who get it out in an instant. I often smile as I see the FA's coming to serve drinks/meals scrutinising the manifest somewhat intently before blurting anything out :).

I left a phone in a cab in BNE on the w/end and had to get the cab back to the airport. Unfortunately this would have meant missing my flight. The awesome lass at the J lounge desk just moved me to the next flight asking "Do you have checked baggage?" when I said no, she spat out another boarding pass.

They're certainly flexible when they need to be (she could see I was stressing as well, as losing a mobile is a bit of a disaster when you're in a job that requires you to be on call 24x7).
