Been watching out for a PER-FLL (or MIAMI) return , Jan/Feb 2013.

Not a lot available and none to suit my dates. Has not cahnged for several weeks.

Do they (Qantas) make more seats available as time goes by?

Plenty of dates SYD-FLL-SYD and BRIS-FLL-BRIS but lean PER-FLL-FLL

Do it to either DFW or lax, then just purchase a fare from the AA website if nothing else shows.
Avails will not get any better generally.

You may have to be imaginative with a multi-city itinerary and overnight layovers. As an example: Outbound 13/01 QF582 PER/SYD 14/01 QF107 SYD/JFK 15/01 AA1621 JFK/MIA. This may seem a long-winded way to get from PER-MIA but it's still 64000pts (Y)but a whopping $489.69 in charges. On the return trip look at availability also via ORD/DFW/LAX and ensure layovers are less than 24hr. If you can't find transpacific availability also try LAX/HNL/SYD or even LAX/NAN/SYD.
I had a similar problem returning from MIA in October this year and finally found a route via LAX/NAN/BNE/SYD (and before that CDG/JFK/MIA all for 64000pts).

Best of luck
