QF9 schedule padding again to LHR

One is better than none, especially for those who don't want to go through the Middle East.

Isn't there Finnair? ;-p

Honestly, I can't see the benefit in focusing on sporadic codeshares to destinations already served by either QF already (LHR) or through EK (Europe). Adding a BA code SIN-LHR does not add much for QF. Particularly as QF is trying to serve Asian markets with its Asian routes. If QF needs to improve code share availability, it's major weakness imo is connecting asian flights.

Those who don't want to go through the Middle East can travel on CX, MH, BA, TG, SQ, JL, .... There are plenty of options it is a free market.

I don't think the issue is so much availability of metal, it's the alternate opportunity to earn points and - more relevantly perhaps - *decent* SCs.

We can see the benefit of that.

Unfortunately QF do not appear to be acting on the possibility of increased revenue by offering the codeshare on these options. That may or may not be due to some backroom deal between QF and EK - we'll never know, but surely QF aren't blind to this revenue possibility?!?

Expect an announcement soon that the QF9/10 will be re-routed via Singapore. :-)
Not too sure how that would work though. They've only recently added MEL-SIN flights, so that would be a lot of extra seats to SIN. And the current departure time doesn't quite work, as you're looking at arrival time in SIN at roughly 5am. There also isn't much room to change the A380 schedules as they're quite highly utilised. And then there's also the additional expense of an extra shift in the SIN ground handling agents and the lounge staff too. I'm not saying it's wrong and won't happen, but there are some obvious difficulties/costs which will need to be looked at.
