QF9 - check-in

Hey - anyone know when is the earliest I could check into QF9 on a Friday night (i.e. is check-in open for anything else slightly earlier)?

If it doesn't open until 8pm, I'll be stuck for a few hours after work - not sure whether to head out to the airport and try and get into lounge early or stay in city (I will have checked luggage).

Isn't there a flight to AKL ~6:40pm?

You could head to the airport early while check-in is still open for the AKL flight. Do you have any status? That could make it easier for them to open check-in early for QF9.
