Came to select seats and noticed an interesting configuration in rows 4-9.

I don't remember QF introducing PE on B737s so where did the middle seats go?

Looks like QF have either got the 734's back or it has gone BA on you!

Called the Platinum desk (on a different matter) and also asked about this strange config. The agent said it's indeed unusual and after checking with supervisor said it must be one of the new B738s but couldn't explain why some middle seats are missing on seat map.

Load restrictions perhaps?

As that seat map is different to the new 12J162Y seat map, I doubt it is due to it being a "new" 738.

I agree and was surprised QF staff clearly have no idea as well.

There will be seats blocked due weight restrictions for SYD-DPS leg. My educated guess is it is related to that. Perhaps the will try to sell those seats as an upgrade to non-status customers?
