QF21 Diverted to Tahiti due to Unruly Passenger

Are you aware of the difference between civil and criminal proceedings?
Of course, as quoted Twiggys case was a criminal proceeding, later taken over by the Attorney General, and in QLD anyone can take up a criminal prosecution under the criminal code act or the older justices act, neither of which would be civil in nature.

On Papeete tomorrow our time given is 1931 Sunday as he languishes in the lockup.
Verifiable credible source ? (so not social media)
Locked up by France for what reason (French law)?

Even if private criminal prosecutions are possible, there are very strict guidelines and the DPP is closely involved and could terminate it. The private prosecutor would need to do all the leg work in investigating the issue and deep pockets paying for lawyers. Last I heard Qantas cabin crew are not exactly on the Qantas executive payroll.

As this is perhaps a case of battery, why go through all that trouble, I doubt very much that the crew member would bring a private prosecution which would necessarily entail some financial cost to themselves. If they want just go to the AFP.

languishes in the lockup.
Is he definitely still in Tahiti? Not even social media is saying that he is

Behaviour can be criminal
*Alleged* to be criminal. There is a reason why we have Courts to adjudicate these allegations.
