QFF Bronze here looking to book 2 x Classic Awards from LHR to PER.

My question is, are there only ever Y seats available on this route? Or are PE and J already snapped up by the time I can see availability?

Currently I can see only Y available up to 17 June 2020.

Thanks.

My impression is that one can apply for an upgrade, but there are never any award seats for J. I have had some success with upgrades from PER -> MEL
and vv. Sometimes upgraded to Business and sometimes to Premium Economy.

Can confirm that Qantas, as a rule, does not release PE or J reward seats on the PER-LHR route. The only chance you might have is if you're a Platinum/Platinum One member and you can get a seat opened up for you by yield management.

I too can confirm from a close friend that is WP who managed to snare x 2 award seats in J on this sector - the only way to secure these seats was to hola and call up.

I’ll apply for an upgrade and cross my fingers.

As a Bronze member, do not expect to be upgraded to business class on this flight.

There is massive demand for a business class seat on this route because it is such a long flight.

That means any Platinum One, Platinum, Gold or Silver member on this flight is going to submit a request to upgrade to business class if they can.

And they will take priority over you.
