Just booked QF1 & 2 and selected my seats. However, QF site shows only 5 rows of seats, numbered 24 to 28.
The maps I have seen all have the chairs starting at 34 upwards.

Anyone have any clues as to why? Flight is early August so I wonder if it is too early to confirm the plane we will be on?

Having asked all that, whats the hot tip for a couple flying together; which seats are the best for an enjoyable flight (no chair-pullers, babies, toilet routes or kitchens?)

I think Qantas flies A380s on this route with 2 configurations. I with PE upstairs - rows 34-39 and all E seats downstairs starting with row 50. The other config is with PE upstairs 24-28 followed by 6 rows of E 32-36. The upstairs E is the best, quiet and peaceful.

That will explain it. We are in A380, PE. I will look at the other seat map to see where we are as I've only looked at the upper deck, very rear PE map.

It appears you have the A380 with this seat configuration

I'd go for the 24 A/B or 24 J/K, if possible.

As a PS, you will not be able to pre-select those seats at the time of booking. They are reserved for WP or above.

But at T-80, you may be just lucky.

Some people recommends row 28 (AB or JK in your case) as there will be no seat pulling from behind.

all 24 row seats are locked out, so I've grabbed 28 A/B to thwart the seat pullers. Might be a solid bulkhead direct behind which will be even better.

Behind row 28 is a solid bulkhead. Your recline isn't restricted in row 28 though.

That sounds good to me. I'll just stick with those seats there and back unless there happens to be better ones I can get on the way home.

I love AFF. I was going to ask this question but as usual the answer is already there. We also have the rows 24-28 config and have been allocated 25 J and K for QF127 to HKG. I'm 'only' SG so can't pick 24. So I'll go change to 28 AB or JK and keep on eye out for 24 from T-80

That is the only config of the A380's now...
