Well done to QFF, although the real recognition of the tier will be its maintain rates I suspect:

Qantas Frequent Flyer was recognized for the launch of its new Platinum One tier, an initiative that has resulted in improved customer benefits, competitive advantage and longer-term customer loyalty.

COLLOQUY, LoyaltyOne’ global research group, launched the awards in 2010 to salute the most innovative, customer-committed Enterprise Loyalty initiatives in the industry. Members of the loyalty industry – through COLLOQUY’s more than 45,000 subscribers – determined the winning initiatives across 10 industry categories, representing organizations from six countries.

Juliet Archer, Manager Airline Loyalty for Qantas Frequent Flyer, was presented with an engraved crystal award at an awards ceremony Sept. 12, during the 10th Annual COLLOQUY Loyalty Summit in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. A printed summary of all of the 2012 award winners is available for download at http://www.colloquy.com/2012-Award-Winners

The launch was a great night and they certainly did hype it well :D

As a side note, both LoyaltyOne and ICLP have been trying to get QF as a client for years. At least that' what I hear at global loyalty events.

I think his thread is going to go downhill very quickly...

So far my P1 experience is fairly neutral:

Positive

- Op Up on first flight (though was only SYD-MEL)
- Rapid despatch of my epiQure wines

Negative

- No real call to advise of P1
- Wrong info in welcome pack
- No discernable change to onboard service

Looking forward to

- Booking 3 J seats to DXB and LCA next year for a reduced cost (by 100,000+) as I do not need to fly via LHR
- OpUp to F on my next F'able flight ;)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I have made no other epiQure orders - other than the Manu dinner.

I've been P1 for just over 6 months and struggle to see the benefit above Platinum, I don't know how many P1 members there are but for me this level is a token effort by Qantas.

I understand the op up is quite standard for your first qualifying flight. you need to time it for a SYD-DXB leg i reckon.

hmmmm are you sure? I don't recall getting op-up on my flights after I qualified for P1..
I agree with most.. so far the P1 status tier has been underwhelming.. but then again it is not a tier level that one should aspire to reach and burn FF points on status run.

Have to agree with the general consensus. As a P1 flyer since pretty much a week after the program started, the only thing I've noticed is the flight attendants coming and talking to me a lot more than usual. Also not getting an invite to the Double Status thing kinda annoyed me as I had 3 flights OS in business class during that period and would've really helped to maintain P1 easier, probably will still, but they don't reward P1s properly at all.

I dont think we are the target market for double SC promotions... I've never received one.
