Previously, I have used the QF website to look for both QF & JQ flights - Sydney to Gold Coast.

A quick check for this weekend has no JQ flights showing on the QF website, however there are when looking on the JetStar website.

Anyone heard about this change? Or maybe a problem?

Hi Skoogle,

Seems you are correct.

Previously when searching for shared JQ and QF ports ex-BNE such as DRW, ADL, CNS and TSV you were given the option of a standalone JQ or QF flight or a mixture of both Jetstar (such as BNE-CNS) then QantasLink (such as CNS-DRW). Although now it appears that when looking for flights to ports such as DRW you are only given the option to fly Qantas/QantasLink which was how the website functioned previously, before they introduce the ability to book a mixture of JQ/QF flights.

You then search for flights on QF.com to ports that are only serviced by Jetstar such as PPP or AVV and you are redirected to the Jetstar website.

Perhaps the change to showing a combination of standalone JQ and QF flights in addition to mixed flights with JQ and QF segments was causing too much confusion or a raft of problems for the carriers.

I must admit the booking availability page on Qantas.com is much cleaner and far easier to follow now compared to previously (when it had JQ flights showing).

Cheers

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Likewise, looking at availability for sectors such as CNS-BNE or CNS-SYD the Deathstar options no longer appear in the QF booking engine. This seems to have changed in the last day or two.

Presumably because opn those routes where QF AND JQ fly, people were opting to go JQ because of the price difference.

This way, they hope you'll just book the QF seat (and ths make them more money).

This is a bit painful for multi-segment flights where JQ don't fly (ie PER-MEL) and QF fly limited flights (MEL-LST), requiring juggling of schedules. I think from now on I'll be flying DJ! At least my baggage makes its own way through MEL and I don't get stung excess baggage on a mosquito (AKA Dash-8) into LST!

I think this error might have been corrected. For GOV-BNE, I am given the option of QF GOV-DRW and JQ DRW-BNE. I also seeing JQ flights BNE-CNS. This must have been a problem with the system and has been fixed.

JQ do fly PER-MEL now... I've done it twice.

Yes they fly Per-Tulla AND Per-Avalon.. so one needs to make sure you select the right one..

Why is it cheaper tro fly from Tullarmarine than Avalon

Avalon-Perth= 189
Tulla-Perth= 149

I must say that $149 is a cheap "base price", mabye cause of the times, cheaper landing, takeoff costs than the Avalon day service Isn't that Tullarmarine service only temporary anyway, and wernt they then gonna add that Tullarmarine one to another Avalon one, when they get new a/c. Jetstar only started up tulla-perth cause its a popular route and i guess they just have an a/c sitting there. I guess they dont fully use their a/c like Tiger Airways, who i actually just flew!, which Tiger drive their aircraft into the ground with use. Wonder what tomorrow's Tiger sale intales, most likely another "1 day" 19.95 or something or other. I must say that I am getting a bit bored with the cheap flights now, seen enough of them i think, also bought enough of cheap fares for a while now anyway.

Im just waiting for V Australia and its Launch prices, who isn't!, and Jetstars annoucnement of europe, usa. Opinions Please:D
