QF Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

QF4 HNL-SYD, upgrade from Y+ to J 28 hours prior.

Icing on the cake is it’s VH-OEB, so I snatched 2K, a “first class” seat. It’s a day flight so wasn’t sweating this one but nice way to end a holiday.

It will also be the flight that qualifies me as platinum for the first time, so there’s also that.

Failed QF43 Upgrade as a PS, this may be obvious but my upgrade requests have never been approved

QF648 and QF880 tonight and tomorrow, both upgraded within a couple hours after only booking yesterday mid morning. WP and flex fare.

Sort of rare to get an Airbus -300 over in Perth. It’s due to all the footy fans heading back from Melbourne today. All flights are full!

QF12 upgrade request was not successful (as a SiverFF). TBH I was not expecting to be upgraded, but it would have been nice...

I'm on qf3 on wednesday and qf4 2 weeks later. How can you tell plane model number prior to flying? Expert flyer and plane tracking sites aren't giving me much.

Assume you mean rego rather than model, given the quoted post. VH-OEB is a giveaway by the seat map, the old F cabin looks like this:

A couple of weeks ago now, but QF28 SCL-SYD Y+ to J upgrade success at t-48 as WP. Only asked 10 days prior showing as a pretty empty flight accordong to Expert Flyer.

J cabin about 80% full, Y+ full, Y about 70% on my quick stroll.

Kept having major problems with the QF website and app to select seats. Eventually managed to select 3K at about t-24

And looking like I’m missing out on the way home too on qf4 tomorrow. I have worst luck as a wp. There is almost no point in bothering.

Depends on route and time of year, but zero from ten sounds like really bad luck.

QF93 MEL-LAX on Sun Oct 21, requested J succeeded with Y+ upgrade
QF94 LAX-MEL on Thu Oct 25, flight was overbooked and I failed to get any upgrade. In future business travel I’d consider staying until Friday when QF96 also runs LAX-MEL to maximize my chances with downside of arrive on Sunday morning rather than Saturday.

QF1 upgrade from J to F SIN -LHR 22/9 not successful, however, annoyingly, no advice of rejection. More success QF12 LAX-SYD again J to F today but again, no notification.

I also didn't get any text messages for successes or failures on my recent trip. I wonder if they have a system issue.

Ticked the box about accepting upgrades until boarding as I always have, but have previously received text messages.
