Hi

It looks like I will be needing to do some flights from either Melbourne or Sydney to Perth over the next few months with Qantas.

Apologies if this question has been asked previously, but I was wondering if anyone knew which flights were operating the new domestic A332 configuration?

I've noticed that there are a few A332 flights to/from Melbourne and Sydney and Perth each day, but I didn't think they were all in the new configuration.

Thanks

CJG

Can't help you on which flight, but I have heard that a second new domestic A332 is due to join the fleet later this month, which will improve the odds

I flew QF420 from Mel-Syd in December, which was on the A330-200. Was very nice to fly on Dom route, spacious.
It had Skybeds in J Dom!

That happens occasionally when they are repositioning A/C. Skybeds in J dom are a pipedream, at least in the near future.

On some PER-MEL and PER-SYD flights, I have been on 767s in J with Dreamtime seats - obviously not Skybeds but still much better than the usual Milleniums. Is there any regular schedule for A/C so equipped on these routes or is it pure luck?

I would say its pure luck but with QF expanding its domestic flights by moving 767's back on to such routes you will probably see more and more of the INT product, in fact I expect late this year with the exception of trans tasman 767 will be solely domestic ops.

Is anyone privy to the chances of QF648 not being EBJ (i.e personal IFE) next Thursday 4/3?

It would make the midnight horror go fast for someone who cant sleep on a plane:)

I'd say that before too long the 767 will be solely domestic ops. Trans-tasman is being handed over to JetConnect which will be operating a fleet of AVOD equiped 737's... (To compete with AirNZ that operate all international a/c with AVOD)

QF49/55 will continue to be 767 operated for the time being, Jetconnect do not have the cpaacity to put 737s on all the current QF trans tasman services until the fleet is completed next year.

There is a reason why I didn't put a specific timeframe in place. I know that JC is still missing the capacity, and that takes time to fill...
