If you have SG or WP have you considered the Delta status match?
It would get you SkyTeam Elite Plus which gives perks such as lounge access on Garuda. You would get lounge access in MEL and DPS.

How long does this Status Match last for I am lifetime SG , could i also get this?

Can’t see why not. There is a thread on this site that does discuss it.
You get 3 months to complete the Status challenge which is not too demanding.

Oh thank heavens. hubby and I flew to DPS on a QF 737 in Y last year and it was quite horrific: a domestic fit-out aircraft flying short-haul international. It was a very uncomfortable experience, and neither of us are large folk.

A tip for DPS passport control if you have a log history of flying....
At the left end of the passport processing lines there are a couple of usually empty lines (as opposed to the scrum in the "normal" lines. The "catch" is that they are restricted to travelers over 60 years of age (and likely companions)....

Happy wandering
Fred

Hi Fred,

Yes have experienced this, in fact some young boy approached us and ushered us to this line..... the fastest we have ever been through this airport

Cheers

I don't find short haul Int'l on a 737 too bad on a daytime flight. Redeye flights on the other hand is a different story entirely.

I do wonder if the A321neo/A321LR orders by the QF group (mostly for the Jetstar franchises) may see a few of the A321LRs head to QF mainline with flat-beds installed? (I personally don't see that happening although the A321LR would be good for MEL-DPS and ADL-SIN).

I agreed with RWJ777 when she posted, and still agree with her now. Will never be convinced that much more than 2 hours in a 737 is unpleasant no matter where it's flying to, and what time of day or night it might be.

Good morning!

Has anyone managed to secure classic award flights on either QF43 or QF44? I'm chatting (online) with Qantas customer service rep and it's only available to purchase.

Thanks LadyC, good to know it's possible. The wedding isn't until 1 October 2020, and given I'm 11 month's out there should be some available seats. Am I booking too far in advance?

What status have you got?
Just done a dummy check for 2 passengers and there is availability on QF43 for September 27th, 29th and 30th

It's not too early to book for October 2020. If you can't find seats, I think your issue might be that it is school holiday period so either:
a) award seats have already been redeemed by others; or
b) qantas don't release seats over the holiday periods as they know they can sell them.

Yes I scored a J seat on both for flights that I took in AUG 2019.
