If I was a forty something middle manager, there is no way I would like to be humping bags at an airport in all sorts of weather.
Wonder how this all fits with OH&S requirements as well as what their insurance providers would think of this.
Years ago I had to do a manual lifting course to work in a data centre print room, the heaviest we were allowed to lift in one go was 15kg, iirc.

Back straight, knees bent. :)

Minimum connection time at SYD and MEL now increasing to 90mins due to poor baggage handling.

Interestingly we have a 65 minute connection in Sydney on the 23rd August. 10:10 into domestic, 11:15 out of international. I was trying to do hlo, but it may not be possible with swmbo!
Her ticket is also a J ticket for the DSC's, hope it doesn't affect that, the previous flight is a dreaded Q400.

ORC likely needed……

Yeah, the current 60 minutes is totally ridiculous and unrealistic. I would never book it.

Hopefully now the Qantas call centre will also stop fobbing off customers calling to rebook their SYD connection due to there being "no availability" on an earlier flight, after a schedule change resulting in a 60-minute connection.

As mentioned, the self loading luggage may still miss a 90 min connection…

They tried to give me a 60 minute connection time in LHR coming off QF1.
Luckily I got a HBA expert who snuck me on a flight 6 hours later.

10:10 > 11:15 is no longer an allowable connection. Assuming you're flying CBR-SYD-AKL, can you ask to be moved to QF1502 in J ex CBR?

From my reading of SMH & ExecTrav blog is for SYD D to I. Bags or pax not on international flight has big implications. Far less implications I to D.

So I have a booking from BNE to SYD to ICN in April. I’m on the first flight of the day to SYD which gives me a connection time of 85 minutes.

Reckon I should contact Qantas and ask for a flight and accommodation for the night before?

April is a long time away. I wouldn't worry yet.

It's likely they will retime a number of flights to align with this new MCT.

We had a bit over 2
hours international to domestic on the trip back from SIN (SYD - CBR) the other week. I was worried with a late departure from SIN as I had picked the only B717 for the day (the rest being Dash and no J). Did check in as soon as landed and then message that flight cancelled. Next replacement flight added about 30 mins later - a B717 but full economy. At least not a Dash (which I don't like) but flight was pretty ordinary. A bit tarnished IMO :(
OT but I also note that Dash are featuring for a number of flights CBR - BNE daily now (used to be one, now at least four?). Edited - talking through my hat though I am sure they were there month or so back - seemed to be a number of QF2xx_ flights.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not seeing any Dash 8s on CBR-BNE at the moment? It seems to be a mix of 717s (without J) and E190s (with J).

I wouldnt as well but maybe it would give upper management an appreciation of what workers on the ground do.

During initial Covid craziness there were a few times admin staff were asked to roll up their sleeves and get into our factory to assist with jobs, packing boxes with product ect because we couldnt keep up with demand. The GM was always there getting into it and still gets on the line when needed - he has a very strong L.E.A.D focus.
