Hi, if i fly on QF metal but on a BA flight no, do I still get the 100% WP points bonus? What about the other WP 'perks'? e.g. priority seat choice etc? And am i able to use QF miles to upgrade? (presume not on the latter, but if someone can confirm).

On a side note - can anyone tell me why BA would quote $20 less for the same flights/tickey class etc than QF? I thought the JSA meant common pricing?

Thanks

You will get your 100% WP points loading bonus as per usual. The bonus applies when you fly eligible QF, BA, AA and JQ marketed tickets.

You should also be able to select a seat from a decent range without charge as long as your FF# is on the booking. This should be even more so if you booked the ticket through QF; if you booked it through BA and you can't get at particular seats (or a lot of them), perhaps you need to call them to kick them in the pants.

Unfortunately, you cannot use points to upgrade this flight. The flight needs to be marketed and operated by QF.

No idea why BA would have a lower cost than QF, although $20 is really nothing. That's about the same price as QF's international credit card surcharge - could that be what's going on?

Cheers for the reply. Never thought about the CC charge to be honest but doubt it - quote came from a TA not direct from QF. Presume QF dont impose a fee to TAs that then gets passed on? You're right tho - $20 in the grand scheme of things isnt a big deal - was more just curious than anything. Somewhat strangely as well, i've noticed if i book a 1/2 BA, 1/2 QF flight no (e.g. QF ticket number MEL-SIN then BA flight number but still on QF metal from SIN-LHR) it comes out about another $20~$25 cheaper again... maybe there is a way to beat the system afterall!

?

On a recent JFK-SYD J flight, I was an AA codeshare (QF108) & ticketed by AA. On QF manage my booking online it would allow me to select a a seat on the plane map, but would then say I'm not eligible to pre-select seat.

I was allocated a seat in the middle section, even though onboard the J cabin was less than 50% full with many window pair seats vacant (I moved seats after take-off). I think my QF gold status was not recognised on this AA ticket.
